Dan Auer joined the ANCA staff in November 2021. He has a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in Conservation Biology and Environmental Science. Dan has worked at both residential environmental learning centers and nature centers in a variety of roles. He is excited to bring over a decade of experience in our profession to ANCA’s members.
Growing up, Dan was a camper at Clear Lake Camp at the Battle Creek Outdoor Education Center and was awarded a research grant in college from Pierce Cedar Creek Institute. The foundational experiences Dan had at these ANCA member organizations fostered his passion for our profession.
Dan has a passion for native plants and loves spending time working in his garden. He also enjoys exploring the many trails and waterways around his home near Detroit, Michigan, land of the Anishinaabe peoples.
