As Camp Lichterman continues to grow, Teacher/Naturalist will be responsible for promoting camps, creating new and engaging agendas for Camp Lichterman’s many camps while building more camp weeks where possible in the summer and school year breaks. Teacher/Naturalist should be comfortable working with many different age groups of campers along with high-school age Junior Naturalist Volunteers. Training of Camp Lichterman staff is a responsibility also. Teacher/Naturalist will be responsible for promoting Camp Lichterman and Lichterman Nature Center, in general, at public community events such as Camp Expo, STEM nights at schools, Community Festivals and Gatherings, and other pertinent events. Other duties include teaching school programs as needed, taking camp and community reservations, budgeting and buying needed supplies for camps and community events, safety training of camp staff, and others set forth by the Chief Teacher/Naturalist. Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in science/education/natural resources field(s) and experience with handling and interpretation of wildlife and plants of the Mid-South is required.
