Salary: Hourly $20/hr
The Forest Preschool (FPS) Aftercare and Robin’s Nest Teacher works collaboratively with the FPS Director and other FPS teachers to facilitate child-centered play and learning with nature. They implement best practices of a nature-based early childhood aftercare program at NBNC. This part-time position is responsible for a regular aftercare teaching schedule, leading Robin’s Nest Playgroup once a week, ongoing and collaborative curriculum and education philosophy development, student safety, risk management, outdoor site assessments, and student behavior. The FPS Aftercare and Robin’s Nest Teacher helps nurture student growth, and supports the FPS Director in family communication and FPS special events. A member of the NBNC Education Team, this position plays a supporting role in maintaining the Swallow’s Nest (the building that houses the FPS program) and the adjoining Nature Playscape through daily upkeep. Aftercare activities include outdoor and indoor free play, snack, reading time, cooking, games, and arts and crafts.
