Location: Bernardsville, New Jersey
Salary: $64,000 to $70,000
The Nature Center Director ensures efficient and effective management, oversight and promotion of the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary in order to generate a positive influence in the community. The Director is expected to maintain, grow, and promote center-based programming that reflects NJA’s mission and supports the Organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ). The Director takes a leadership role in membership growth, donor cultivation, sanctuary stewardship and community outreach. The Director encourages and maintains an active, cooperative interface between staff, volunteers, and interns involved in these programs and promotes NJ Audubon as a membership-based conservation organization. Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses 300 acres of forest, fields and wetlands at the headwaters of the Passaic River in Somerset County, NJ and adjacent to Morristown National Historical Park. There are approximately 6 miles of trails, a 14-acre deer exclosure and several buildings on site.
