Description

The North American Association for Environmental Education’s 16th Research Symposium and 48th Annual Conference will convene over 1,000 formal and nonformal environmental education professionals under the theme of “Educating for a Just and Sustainable Future.” Keynotes, concurrent sessions, special events, and more highlight proven practices, push the leading edge of the profession, and advance equity and inclusion in the field. Topics include educating about sustainable communities, connecting with nature, conservation, and green schools. There are also networking and skill-building opportunities targeted for nonprofit organizations, authors, higher education faculty, and young professionals. The Research Symposium brings together established and emerging researchers as well as practitioners to discuss in-progress research, focusing on the processes and impacts of EE research, and to develop and expand their research skills.

Keynote speakers include John Flicker, president of Prescott College and former president of the National Audubon Society, and Mona Chalabi, an incisive data journalist for The Guardian. Friday Flash Talks feature sustainability thought leaders at the helm of both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. The conference closes with an inspiring panel selected from NAAEE’s 30 Under 30 awardees from around the world.
