Salary: $38,000 - $46,000; commensurate with experience
The Highlands Biological Foundation, Inc. (HBF) is accepting applications for an Education Specialist to provide year-round environmental programming and to manage the Highlands Nature Center. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis through March 20, 2024. Tucked into a temperate rainforest in the southern Appalachians, the Highlands Nature Center is located on the campus of the Highlands Biological Station, a multi-campus center of Western Carolina University. Through the Nature Center the Highlands Biological Foundation reaches residents and visitors from across the country, using natural history exhibits and experiential learning to inspire the preservation and protection of our unique environment. This position is essential to the success of the HBF's mission. HBF's Education Specialist is responsible for managing daily operations of the Nature Center, creating and running public programming, and leading summer nature camps. This is a full-time permanent position with a robust benefits package. HBF can also assist with finding local housing.
